REAL WEDDINGS – CLAIRE AND JP PIMHILL WEDDING

Claire and JP's Wedding The date: Saturday 29th July 2017.

The location: The immaculate complex of Pimhill, Nr Shrewsbury, with Ginny’s stunningly and sensitively renovated Medieval barn next to the 17th Century brick dovecote (doves still in occupation).

The occasion: The marriage of Claire and JP.

Claire and JP were so determined to get things right and precisely the way they wanted things’ that they travelled for a whole year from their home near Stoke to attend Sunday services at St. Peter’s Church, Myddle (located near the reception venue) so they’d qualify to be married there.

They then arranged their tables in long rows hired in from Ludlow and comprising the most amazing ‘shabby-chic’ tables and chairs. These were designed to compliment the worn ancient timbers of the barn structure which they then decorated with natural foliage and subtle lighting.

They were equally careful to ensure the food was absolutely right for their guests and chose Kemp & Kemp Catering to provide informal sociable, hearty and tasty food. This comprised homemade canapes to go with the Pimms in the courtyard, followed by an all homemade sharing ploughman’s as a starter including piles of sausage rolls; three cheese, onion and thyme tarts; the astoundingly delicious scotch eggs; pates; local cheeses; beautiful fresh bread and a home-cooked gammon, all served on sharing boards – with masses for everyone and allowing the ability of guests to go for their favourites and to socialise big-style.

Many guests asked the serving team if they needed to leave some space for a main meal, and were glad they did as they were then all treated to a poached breast of chicken, stuffed with fresh leeks and tarragon with a cream and white wine sauce, expertly prepared and brought to perfection by Anouska Collier and Adam Clarke – the two Kemp & Kemp chefs locked away behind the scenes in the kitchen. The tarragon proved a massive hit with many guests intrigued by its distinctive flavour.

Kemp and Kemp’s very own Jill Tiernan made the homemade brownies, shortbreads and life-changing florentines which were served again as sharing platters and, with huge bowls of fresh strawberries, nicely finished things off – – – with a certain amount of satisfied groaning, but with at least one 9 year old who completely overdid the brownies and homemade chocolate sauce and we must admit looked slightly worse for wear afterwards!

Claire’s review of Kemp & Kemp read as follows:…

“Well, what can we say. The food and service that you provided for our wedding was absolutely perfect! It went without a hitch, I was full from the starter but managed to find room for the other two courses.
Comments from the guests were “that was the best wedding food I’ve ever had” the cheese and brownies were amazing and wherever did you find those caterers.
Thank you so much. I wish we could do it all again!”
