REAL WEDDINGS ANIEKA AND IAN

Stowe School

The date:  April 2018

The location: The incredibly grand Stowe School in Buckinghamshire

The occasion: The marriage of Anieka and Ian

Apart from booking Windsor Castle or the Palace of Versailles for your wedding, you could probably not pick a grander location than Stowe School, Buckinghamshire. The fairy-tale vistas from every angle that are scarcely to be believed; the incredible scale of the place; the perfect 18th Century interiors; lawns that almost look too perfect to be real grass – all make for an impressive backdrop, but could  (in the wrong hands) dwarf you and your wedding – NOT so with Ian and Anieka.

The day couldn’t have been more perfect with a ceremony in the main dome, followed by guests basking in the sunshine on the enormous flight of 70 stone steps whist being served (and topped up with) ice-cold bubbly and Indian inspired canapes.

When dinner was ready guests were greeted in by The Function Band whose stylish, hi-energy take on modern classics was delivered from all sides of the perfect 18th Century dining room from a series of 4 glittering podiums.

Karen Kemp of Kemp & Kemp Catering had devised (with Anieka and Ian) a fusion wedding breakfast that would entwine Anieka’s Indian heritage, and Ian’s Englishness. Karen came up with a sharing stater with all manner of Indian-inspired goodies; a main course featuring Maharani Lamb – slow-cooked, spiced shoulder served to boards with bowls of potatoes with peanuts, black pepper and lemon; spring vegetables with spices, and butternut squash with garlic raita, accompanied by a selection of pickles and chutneys.

As guests were busily tucking into this The Function Band struck up again, resulting in most guests dancing on their chairs and all-but abandoning their dinner in the wildest meal Kemp & Kemp have ever witnessed.

The evening was nearly as wild as the meal with 130 spiced lamb burgers served up in the marble hall and The Function Band once again doing their amazing stuff.

If you are going to do – do it properly – Anieka and Ian did ABSOLUTELY.

Afterwards they wrote on Guides for Brides website:

We were lucky enough to have Kemp & Kemp cater our recent wedding. Their organisation and professionalism in the run-up was second to none and meant that everything went perfectly on the day. Richard and Karen are great to deal with and they really went the extra mile in order to deliver what we were looking for and had loads of helpful tips and suggestions. The food was really delicious and all the guests have been raving about how great it looked and tasted. Having it served on sharing boards made it all the more enjoyable, different and memorable. All in all the service provided was first class, we were delighted with everything they delivered and would highly recommend them to anyone considering choosing them for their wedding.
